The old homestead blends in well with the surroundings of mixed shrub-veld, lovely hills with “spekboom, pruimboom” and Acacia Karoo. The garden has been kept to maintain its natural look by accommodating mostly indigenous plants. The very minute you lift your eyes onto the majestic Cockscomb mountain; you will fall in love with it forever. Here at the foothills, the Hide-Away is situated. The area is known for its beautiful sunsets and quiet star-filled nights.

The Hide-Away Guest House and Retreat-Spa is 40 km from the pretty Karoo Town, Steytlerville. The Groot River, flowing nearby, provides a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Come and enjoy the overwhelming peace of the Karoo and relax in the safety of our environment.

The 10-sleep comfortable, spacious, fully equipped farmhouse will have you in a relaxed and lazy mood in no time. This place is like a lady that changes her appearance a few times a year: sometimes she serves as a break-away self catering guesthouse for the tired. In winter, during the hunting season, she accommodates hunters, that love to sit around the campfire, but she mostly likes to welcome groups of ladies attending the very popular Health Retreat-Spa.
